Masthead- A masthead is the main title of the magazine, this is normally in the top left hand corner and runs across/partially along the top of the magazine.
Main image- This is the image that will normally cover the majority of the front page and the image is always related to the main cover line.
Main cover line- This relates to the main image and will give a bit of information about the main image and why it has been selected as the front cover image.
Subheadings- These are headings within the main cover that don't relate to the main image or the main cover line but these give the audience and idea of what else to expect in the magazine. Such as who is the guest that the magazine interview.
Essential information- This is basically just all the small print on the front cover such as the price, date, website and the barcode. Every magazine will have these on.
Colour scheme- The colour scheme will change depending on the type of magazine that you buy. If it is a magazine aimed towards children then the colours used may be bright (yellow's, blue's) to attract the children but if its a magazine aimed at adults then the magazine will only use a few colours so that the max impact can be presented as everything will be clearer.
